May Cultural Meeting – CANCELLED

Unfortunately, our May Cultural Meeting has been cancelled due to the Covid19 issues. We will attempt to schedule Wendy for a future meeting.
Our May cultural meeting will feature author Wendy Swallow. She has written a book titled “Searching for Nora; After the Doll’s House.”
Her new novel, Searching for Nora: After the Doll’s House, follows Nora as she struggles to make a life for herself in Kristiania (now Oslo) and then escapes Norway in disguise, a passenger on an emigrant ship and soon a reluctant settler in the harsh Minnesota prairie.
Searching for Nora tells a tale that is both intimate and sweeping. Nora’s narrative, written as a memoir, spreads over four decades and is woven together with the story of a second character, Solvi Lange, a young university student in Norway in 1918. Solvi seeks to unravel the mysteries of her grandfather’s hidden shame and the fate of a long-vanished Norwegian feminist.
