Wendy Swallow to speak in October
At our October 2nd meeting, we will hear from Wendy Swallow about her novel, Searching for Nora: After The Doll’s House. Ms. Swallow is a former Washington Post reporter and a professor emerita at American University in D.C., where she taught aspiring journalists how to write and report.
The novel follows Nora, heroine of Ibsen’s play A Doll’s House, after she walks out at the end of the play and as she struggles to make a life for herself. Nora’s narrative is written as a memoir spread over four decades.
Searching for Nora is Swallow’s third book. Her work has been critically acclaimed by Publishers Weekly, Elle, Booklist, Newsday, and the Washington Post, among others.
Members will be provided with a Zoom link prior to the meeting.
