NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION:  ‘DUGNAD”

posted in: Lodge News, Uncategorized | 0

This is the time of year people make New Year’s resolutions.  The Board would like to propose a New Year’s resolution, to set a goal, for the lodge for 2025.  As is the case with many other organizations, attendance at meetings has been down since the pandemic and we’d like to change that.  I’ve always found that the more active I am in an organization, the more I get out of my membership.  The more I work together with other members, the more I appreciate what great people belong to the lodge.  That’s a gift.

The Board would like to set a goal of having 30 people attend each cultural meeting by December of this year.  Reaching that goal is up to all of us.  We can all do something.  First of all, each of us can make an effort to attend more meetings.  Each of us can make a call or send an e-mail encouraging someone else to come to a meeting or offer a ride to someone who doesn’t like to drive at night any more.  Make sure you let people know that they are missed when they don’t make it to a meeting.  We do miss them.  We value all of our members and need everyone to participate in order to keep our lodge successful.

“Dugnad” is a Norwegian word to express the practice of everyone working together to achieve a common goal.  Let’s make increasing member participation in lodge activities our “dugnad” for 2025.  See you at the February meeting?
