NOTE: OUR MEETING TIME SWITCHES TO SUNDAY AFTERNOON FOR JANUARY, FEBRUARY AND MARCH
Kari Heistad, Founder and CEO of Culture Coach International and Founder and CEO of Diversity Dashboard, will be our speaker at the January cultural meeting. She will be talking about her father, Erling Heistad, and the ski jumps he designed.
Erling Heistad was a Norwegian immigrant from Tønsberg, Norway. He immigrated with his parents and siblings through New York and then up to Rockport, ME. After college, he became a mechanical arts teacher in Lebanon, NH where he spent all of his adult life. He started the Lebanon Outing Club which is still going today, coached numerous award winning ski teams, and he designed 50 ski jumps throughout New England. Two of his jumps are still in use in Lebanon, NH to this day. His deep love for skiing meant that he was inducted into the Ski Hall of Fame.
