Following Thoreau’s Footsteps

Karen Lein, our Sports Director, organized a Fall walk around Walden pond in Concord Massachusetts.  This pond was the inspiration behind Henry David Thoreau’s book, appropriately titled “Walden”.  Members not only enjoyed a gorgeous day for walking but they saw where the location of Thoreau’s cabin was as well as a replica of the cabin.

Karen described it this way;

We had a sunny day for our walk around Walden Pond.  The foliage was beautiful.  We saw the replica of Henry David Thoreau’s cabin, where he lived from 1845-47 and wrote his famous book.  A good time was had by all”.
